Flagstone is the other declared priority development area in Logan, also declared in 2010, spreading out along the Mount Lindesay Highway with new stages opening as the area grows. Like Yarrabilba, almost all of the concrete work here is first-time work on bare ground beside a brand-new house.
A quick note on who we are. We do not pour concrete ourselves. We are a referral service, and we pass your job to experienced, insured local concreters who work across Flagstone and the surrounding streets.
Common concreting jobs in Flagstone
- First concrete driveways in plain, coloured and exposed aggregate finishes
- Side paths, alfresco slabs and patios
- Shed, garage and studio slabs
- Pool surrounds and equipment pads on newly installed pools
- Tank, pump and air conditioner pads
Staged estates, cartage and timing
Flagstone sits further out than most of the region, and that shows up in two places. Cartage distance from the batching plants can nudge the price, and in a street still under construction the practical issue is access: a truck and a pump need room, and a half-built street can be tight. If your stage is still being built out, ask the concreter what access they need and when the street will realistically allow it.
How the process works
Tell us about the job and your suburb. We pass the details to a local concreter who services Flagstone, and they call you back with a quote. There is no fee for the referral.
On a block that still has builder's fill and debris in the yard, clearing and levelling is part of the job. Say what is there so it is priced rather than argued about on the day.
What concreting costs in Flagstone
As a guide, plain concrete typically costs around $75 to $150 per square metre laid, with coloured and exposed aggregate finishes above that. Area and finish decide most of it, with cartage and access as the local variables. Bundling the driveway with the paths and the patio slab is where the real saving sits. See the cost guide for the full breakdown.
In Queensland, building work valued over $3,300 generally requires a QBCC licensed contractor, and whether a job needs a building approval depends on what it is and where it sits. Those rules are in the Building Regulation 2021, and Logan City Council and private building certifiers apply them. Ask the concreter to confirm licensing and approvals in the written quote before you sign.
Nearby, we also cover Jimboomba and Greenbank.
Frequently asked questions
Does being further out cost more?
It can. Cartage from the batching plant and crew travel are real costs on jobs at the outer edge of the region. A local contractor who works these streets regularly usually prices it better than one driving in.
Can you work in a street that is still under construction?
Usually, with notice. Access for the truck and the pump is the limiting factor, so it is worth a conversation before a date is set.
Should I wait until the whole yard is landscaped?
No. Get the concrete in first and landscape to it. Doing it the other way around means damaging new turf and beds to get a truck and a crew in.
